~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

He called this evening and look like he is coming home... :(
Deedsmom: Calls are so very random among the individual divisions....just depends on schedules and particular RDCs. Hoping that you get a call soon! Keep that phone close, even in the bathroom and when stepping out to get the mail! Calls have been missed during these times in the past.
Linda: No, they can only mail out one form letter. For those who don't receive it, could it have been sent to anyone else? Be sure to ask your SR for the password so that 11 days before PIR, you will be able to download the gate pass that allows you to drive on base.
The info in the letter is pretty much covered in the Family Guide on the RTC site. Here is the link to that .... good info to read through:
http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/pdfs/FamilyGuide_v18Jun2013.pdf
Asmoed does mean Assignment Memorandum, which means that a SR is setback in training for one reason or another. It could be for sickness, injury, academic or fitness failure, discipline, etc. My son was asmoed for a week when he was there, but did great in his next PIR group.
Congrats to your SR, Robsproudmom! So glad that he is healthy and back to training now!
TaylorsMomCathy: I'm so sorry about that. Sounds like if they feel something shown on the xrays can be healed, they would set him back in training to allow for this. If they feel it is something that could not be healed/fixed to Navy requirements, they may medically separate him.
Let's hope that they feel whatever is wrong will heal and he can continue training later! That happens alot at Bootcamp....so praying for that option! Hope you hear something soon.
Seems odd that some of you have not received the form letter yet in this group. This is a little late now...could anyone else have received it? They only send one form letter out. The important info in there is the password so you can download the gate pass to drive onto RTC for PIR. So if you don't get it, be sure to write to your SR and ask for this password. Most of the other info is available online and we can guide you to it as well. There is a wealth of info in the Family Guide on the RTC website. Here is the link to it:
