Taylor'sMomCathy:  The SRs only mail out one form letter.  Could his father copy it and send it to you?  I understand that it is possible for the SRs to ask for another copy in a divorce situation, but most of them won't do that---too scared or they may not know they are allowed to do this (I was told this by someone who used to work at RTC)....so if you can receive a copy of the dad's, that would work!

Hello Everyone,

My son has been in BC for 17 days and it has been a less than easy process for me.  I am naturally a worrier so this is very difficult not being able to hear how he is doing.

I have a question as to why I haven't received his form letter yet.  His father (who lives in WI) received it last week and I live in Louisiana and haven't received it yet.  

Are they only allowed to send one letter?  

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lorraine, I think they hadn't established a mail petty officer by that point so it got pushed back a week.  She didn't mention pictures, but I was wondering about those myself so I'll mention in my next mail.  Hopefully we all get something by the end of the week :)

They will only be mailing letters out on Monday during Bootcamp so you will have your "expected mail day" each week!  They will RECEIVE mail M-F though.

Thanks Graidar, Why wouldn't they let them mail anything? Do they only get to mail on Sundays? And...what happened last Sunday? Anyway, I hope he wrote and has some letters to send...he knows I'll be waiting for those letters. Did your wife say anything about having her pictures taken?

Hi Lorraine, my wife said that she's written a lot, but they aren't letting them mail anything out until tomorrow since last Sunday they didn't get holiday routine.  So letters should be collected tomorrow, mailed Monday and then get to us by the end of the week :)

Yea...it sounds like we got our first real phone calls today, so we should rest easy knowing they are where they want to be and they are safe. My son hasn't written, so that will be the next thing I will look forward to...getting his letter.  In the last letter I wrote to him, I told him what pictures I want him to order and I'll pay him back.  I want to his BT pics for us and family, so I listed what I want as far as size and quantity. Since I didn't get to talk to him today, I don't know if they had their pics taken or not. My husband said he pretty much just let our son do the talking, and he didn't think of asking about picture orders. Maybe I'm rambling now...I'm just feeling antsy since I didn't talk to my son and trying to think of positives.

Just got my 2nd call from my boyfriend, felt so bad he's really homesick. i've been writing him often and i really hope it helps. He says the work isn't very difficult he just misses his family and me, wishes he could come home but knows this will be a good future for him. i really wish i could do more to encourage him /: hope things get easier.

Yes, that's what my SR said this morning (DIV 112)...week 2 - day 3...he meant on Monday.
