Has anybody received a letter yet written by your son? Not the info letter, but an actual letter from them? My son is in SHIP 13 DIV122 Please let me know. Thank you.
I got to talk to my son last Sat., early in the morning my time (6:20am). What a wonderful brightener! He is on ship 11 div 119. Haven't received any mail from him yet, but I can't say I'm surprised. He's not much of a letter writer. When he went to Germany for a 3 week exchange trip he only wrote 1 post card. :P
Got great news that I can't wait to pass on to him - my dad just got word that his leukemia is in remission! Yippee!! Our family has been going through a number of challenges recently, so I'm thrilled to be able to report such wonderful news!!
I am searching daily for the letters. Do they only go out on certain days. My son said he wrote a few that he sent off before Friday. We are right in the area, mail should be next day for us. His sisters will love being able to get a letter from him.
Hi Mychael's Mom! Good to find someone in the same division!
A little slow on introducing myself to this group. Real life gets in the way of the fun life sometimes. :)
My son graduated BC in April of 2012. He is an ET3, or an Electronics Technician, Petty Officer Third Class, but also had schooling in IT.
He stayed in GL for A School, went to C School in San Diego, has been back to San Diego for training on additional equipment since C School, and he is currently forward-deployed.
The ship he is attached to is a Whidbey Island-class landing ship, part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), Squadron 11.
This is my favorite picture of his chin. If was from A School graduation.
Memorize your Sailors ears, hands, chin, nose, and the back of their head, they may be the only thing you catch sight of when they are out in the fleet.
Ladies, I just was advised that no longer will graduating Sailors staying in GL for A School have a problem visiting you in your rooms if you stay at Navy Lodge. They no longer need a chit either. They have privileges visiting Navy Lodge PIR weekend only. Great news since there have been problems with that for the past few months!
