From your Group Creator proudmama:
I know we are all looking forward to graduation, and very excited to finally watch our children and or family members become an Official United States, Navy Sailor. Until then, lets all share our experiences with each other. Our experiences today will help other other new moms and or family members in the future. So lets set a good example, so that our SRs too can be proud of us. I look forward to this journey with each and everyone of you. God bless you and all the SR's

Also does anyone know what color ribbons are pick out for SHIP 12 DIV 098?
It was late in the 3rd week when my first one was able to call (she was able to make 2 phone calls, one to me and one to her twin) and we started getting her mail after that, but she did manage to write a letter on the back of the form letter so that was awesome. She just graduated in Jan.I wrote her every day and she said that helps a lot. My second daughter is there now. She didn't write on the back of the form letter like her sister did, that little brat. I'm so mad at her, especially b/c she knows what it feels like to be waiting to get a note. But I know she may not have been able to.
Hi Everyone!
Please make your hotel reservations asap. I made mine awhile ago but today had to book a room for someone else and where i paid $89 a night the rate went up to $149 because they didn't have anymore rooms available at the navy grad rate. And keeping proudmomma in our prayers.
Ok My son has been gone since two weeks tomorrow, no phone calls or mail, Has anyone had mail or calls from their SR, that left on or around the same time? I just want to know how he's doing. the wait is killing me. :) his PIR is 3/30/12. He is SHIP 4 DIV 809
14 days down and 45 to go!!! No snail mail from Tori yet, no phone call either. But hopefully she is getting the encouraging letters we send by now.
I hope the best for proudmama too, our kids shipped out the same day and even though I didn't hear from mine, we shared in the worry and missing.
My thoughts and prayers are with Proudmama and her son. She was a leader and took on the responsibility of creator with no problems and she did a great job! May God watch over them during this difficult time. I just hope her son is okay.
Dear Group,
I am very sorry to say that we have lost our group Creator proudmama. I do not know why...the most common one when this happens is that her SR was discharged...but do not know for sure. I had not heard from her and sent a message and the next time I checked she had already left the site.
When this happens all of her posts , discussions, blogs and probably most everything else disappear. It used to be that EVERYTHNIG disappeared...including the PIR group they had created. It has stayed though...a small blessing in light of things. The company that the site is managed by is Ning and they must have added a safety feature.I still have PM's from her too.
That being said - Three things:
1. IF you find yourself in a similar situation...it is of course your choice in what you do...but there are groups to help on here if your Recruit gets injured and set back in training or for some reason is recommended for Discharge (also called separation). Not trying to scare anyone...take this info read it and just put it away! No bad JuJu! This site has many areas of support and that is what we are here for Of course, your PIR group friends are always here to support you.
2. We cannot appoint a new"creator". Once a group is created it belongs to that person. You can't delete it either. If we were smaller I might have considered starting over but that is not the case. So, we only lose a couple of features in this event....but they are manageable. I have administrative status on this group but cannot appoint any more (one lost feature). I have access to most all of the group though.
We will continue on of course...I am also thankful we have a couple of Folks who are familiar with the Navy...military in general..your input has been great.
We veteran moms will watch your group closely for you...just watch your postings...I can't remove any possible innapropriate posts...but we will ask you to if a "boo-boo" (how do you like that very un-techy term?!) occurs.
Thank you all...lets wish the best for proudmama and her son...will keep them in my prayers.
Definitely not TMI about taking the phone to the bathroom. I don't know a single mom on this site who doesn't do that lol. In fact most of us carried our phone under our bra strap at least through bootcamp. And don't even get me started on men. or other family members, they DO NOT understand like another mom does and it is absolutely nothing like going away to college. I got so tired of hearing that from my friends lol. I forgave them later haha. That is why I love this site so much, here, everyone understands what you are going through because they have the same feelings as you.
...great posts Folks!
