KathieC - my son left on Feb 2 and he's also in Ship 02 Div 920. I just got the form letter today :)
I really enjoyed talking to you proudmama now it is time for that boy of yours to write a letter. I can't wait to hear how he is doing :-) Hopefully they will get to write this coming Sunday.
I know...right...dang!
FTLW that makes me want a tootsie pop lol.
proudmama feel free to send me a friend request on facebook, you can't do it from my business page but you can from my regular page, let me know if you can't find it. We can chat there or you can give me a call. You should have my cell number I sent it with the info on the ribbons and scarves ;-)
Captain, I assume that too based on the post above on the accounting of days...but as you well know...the Navy does what it wants...Hooyah!
S...Saturdays and Sundays are "0's" LOL not counted in the counting of days at all...
So lets say Week 1 Day 1 is on a Thursday...
Friday-W1D2, (skip Sat and Sun)
and Monday -W1D3 and so on...
The next Thursday would be Week 2 Day 1.
Then Federal holidays are counted like a Sunday.
lol Captain, figuring out those days can be like finding the center of a tootsie pop, the world may never know hahahaha
I got my son's form letter today. Just Happy right now,,,, anyone out there with Ship 02 Div 920 ?
Thanks Lala... I assumed (and I'm probably wrong) that you can't send your address home until you have a division. I also assumed that 1-1 equals the day your division is formed. The counting system is pretty easy once you subtract out out Sundays and Holidays. I always assumed that you trained on a Saturday... crap... never mind... The d@mned Saturdays.
Is that like a training day but not really a training day? If a 1-3 falls on a Saturday is it 1-3 or a 1-SAT with 1-3 actually falling on a Monday?
Ahhhhhhhh.... the joys rediscovering Navy-ese.
Who needs expensive encryption when you've got a pentagon capable of re-arranging the simple into something that can no longer be understood by mortals?
Oh well, at least this generation of text messaging language manglers enters their Naval service with experience in baffling arrangements of letters.
