Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Sorry to sound like I'm policing the site...ha....but after being on it for over two years, I've accumulated lots of info of good and bad that can happen with this site! :-)

I know...we are trying to be helpful, but your form letter is very clear that this is a violation of OPSEC. Protection of the base. So please be careful with that. Remember, this is "cyberspace" here that we are dealing with. We N4Moms veterans who have been on for a long time know this is OPSEC is something you have to be so mindful of, for the safety of your sailors and our country.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on March 23, 2012 at 7:00am: I know if you are flying you probably have your tickets already but Southwest has a special now for $69.00 one way. A mom in a different PIR group had already purchased round trip tickets from Southwest and with this new special she was able to change her tickets to less expensive ones and got a $100.00 credit to use on a flight in the future so be sure and check them out even if you already have tickets with them. You have to go to their website southwest.com
