Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Also, NukeMom: Be sure to ask your new sailor during the I'm a Sailor call what the password is. Your SR is the one who would have written it in the form letter. But, this is actually just used to obtain a gate pass to drive on base. Since it doesn't sound like you are renting a car (??), then you don't have to have the gate pass.

eyeronics: Make sure to post which airport you are arriving at...Midway and Ohare are not real close together so your ride will need to come from the same airport. I didn't know that Sarge is now charging $80/per person on his shuttle! WOW! Before, he was charging by the car. $80/person seems a bit high to me...but then the price of gas is going up like crazy.

Comment by judge on March 20, 2012 at 6:20am: Nuke mom... are you flying into Midway? If so what time do you arrive. We are flying into Midway and arriving at 8:30 am on Thursday. If you are within a couple hours. We can give you a ride. If you are alone we may be able to get you to PIR also.

Comment by CaptainFatso on March 20, 2012 at 12:39am: Nuke Mom - Call the public affairs office at RTC. With a little luck, they will contact your recruit and your recruit's RDC will allow him contact you.

Don't expect public affairs to give the password. They won't. It MUST come from your recruit.
