Capt, that is so funny and so cool that your mom kept your letters :-)
You guys are in the homestretch now and should be able to print gate passes later today YAY, finally, It is almost your turn and you are next :-)
Too funny...it is somewhat "comforting" to know that even in so many years that the lines written home...haven't changed much!
When I couldn't sleep during BS21 and was up most of the night...I read these pages on here to keep me laughing.
Reading Material for FUN! Navy Basic Acronyms, Laughs for the Hard Days and Top Ten Lines Home From Boot Camp...

Hahahaha that is hilarious CaptainFatso. I was so scared that my boyfriend's letter's were going to be just like that... Good thing they weren't! I'd be freaking out.
So funny Capt. Her first letter actually said "These people are crazy, now I know why some people look for reasons to get sent home" But the next letter said it was better, definetely a culture shock for her.
Torismom, Stay strong! You are so right. It is all about them but I'm sure you will hear from her before PIR. :) Stay positive! Less than 2 weeks!!
I appreciate all the encouragement SO MUCH. And for some reason this weekend was hard,.lots of missing. But we'll see our SR's soon and HUG them and it will all be good. I'm sending off her last letter tommorrow and if i don't hear from her before we leave for PIR then I'll just have to wait until I get to talk to her in person.I do appreciate you all understanding, and it makes me feel better to be reminded all the reasons why letters can be so scarce. It is about them after all.
Yes, Lala, that is me! I just got online right now and will be responding to your email.
Thanks for the Captains Cup info. I am glad they get to do fun stuff after so much work! My son loves that kind of thing.
BTW: Anyone who still needs ribbons for PIR 3/30, its not too late to order! :)
Torismom, please don't feel bad. When I went to bootcamp, grant it that it was a very long time ago, but I promise you, my poor mother didn't get very many letters from me either. Not because I didn't miss her or love her, but I just was tired and focused on studying and getting thru with the tasks at hand. I wanted my parents to be proud of how "independent" I was becoming, that I didn't want them to know I missed them. LOL I thought that if I wrote them, they would think that I was being "that little girl" that they sent off to the Navy, and I was convinced that I was going to show them I was now a "woman". :) Now that I am retired from the navy and have gone thru one son going off to the Air Force, and now one in Navy Bootcamp, I laugh with my mother about how hard it is that when I don't get mail all the time from my sons. Don't worry, you will get mail, and I'm sure your daughter is doing wonderful, and she wants to make you proud of her, just like I wanted my mother to be proud of me so long ago. Hang in there, it won't be much longer now!
The last couple of weeks they sometimes get to send letters twice a week instead of once a week so hopefully this week will be a great week for letters for ALL of you, especially you Torismom, we are gonna have to all write her a letter and tell her to write her moma lol
