Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by beachmom757 on March 18, 2012 at 7:55am: Captains cup is like a field day competition in which graduating divisions compete against each other in events such as push ups, sit ups, obstacle course, etc. It takes place the saturday before graduation.

Can someone tell me what Captains Cup is? I must have missed that!

Even if you don't want to use the questionnaire it has a very good paragraph encouraging them for battle stations. You can even make extra copies and send it to your recruit to hand out to their friends. They could all use it I'm sure :-)

Then during the next week will be the Battlestations. I can hardly wait for that "I'm a Sailor" call. We are almost there!!!
