got a letter... markmenship EXPERT- whoohoo! i'm assuming this is a big deal??? sounded like the RDC was possibly, in the slightest, impressed...

Comment by CodeMansMom on March 16, 2012 at 10:29am

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I guess he is just so close to PIR that he just doesn't want to chance it. I am hoping that if the the RDC's hear him coughing and they think it's getting to bad that they will make him go to the clinic.

CaptainFatso.  The "ribbon thingy"....HA!  Too cute....marksmanship ribbon is probably a more appropriate name, don't you think?  :-)  Good for her!  That woman can shoot

Yes, the illnesses of bootcamp.  They are numerous and very common.  It is amazing how much these SRs get through though.  And they are watched carefully.  Here's hoping that those sick feel better soon, and come back stronger than ever!

Good morning all!

codesmansmom, Hey my son was sick and didnt go in, because he was worried about being held back, anyhow he ended up with phenomia, and had to be in the hospital for 2 days. but he got better, caught up and was not held back. so hopefully your son will get taken care of and be just fine too. my son actually made me laugh when he said he enjoyed the days off, that he spent in the hospital resting:)

Another division 098 letter today!

The division talks too much, but they've earned every flag so far.

Some of the females are convinced that their compartment is haunted. Apparently they hear some girl crying in the head at night, but when they investigate, no one is there.

My daughter earned a "ribbon thingy" for shooting. A "Ribbon Thingy"? Her words, not mine.

I think I'm getting a sense for what my wife would've been like as a Sailor.

CodeMansMom - Yes...they have strict rules about meds...has to be issued to you in BC...cannot share even a cough drop...my son said he went to medical three times as he was sick three times...each time he had a fever...they treated him.

I hope he gets some cough drops at least ad maybe some syrup. Praying for him and any recruits that are sick!

Mine had the crud...then pneumonia...then a cold...was having trouble with the run (gee I wonder why) but he got it on the last one.

CodeMansMom - my son is sick again also.  He got sick a week after getting there.  On Sunday, he went to medical and they gave him cough syrup and cough drops.  He's not being set back at all.

Got a letter from Cody today. Happy to hear from him but a little bummed. He has been sick again. Said he has been coughing really bad and it's making it really hard to run but he doesn't want to go to clinic because he is afraid he will get set back and not graduate on time. Is that the only way they can get any kind of OTC medicine?

If you are on the forum pages on facebook they are doing away with those pages. Please spread the word to your friends and let them know that we welcome them to come to this site to meet others in their PIR group and Division. We are more than happy to answer questions they may have about bootcamp.
