Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I know we are all looking forward to graduation, and very excited to finally watch our children and or family members become an Official United States, Navy Sailor. Until then, lets all share our experiences with each other. Comment by Caryn321 on February 24, 2012 at 7:08pm: I get a letter today too AND a phone call! Feel like I'm floating on cloud 9! My SR had his wisdom teeth pulled as well and said it wasn't bad. Lilbigmansmom someone explained to me that they pull the wisdom teeth so they don't become a problem when out at sea or deployed. I got the feeling from my SR that he really enjoyed a few days off after getting them removed but it was hard on me not knowing when they were doing it (we've been there as moms for every sore throat, fever, cavity ect). He's doing just fine without me (smiley and frowny face here).

Comment by beachmom757 on February 24, 2012 at 7:04pm: My daughter was getting her wisdom teeth removed this week. She wasn't too thrilled about the prospect of being sick in quarters for 2 days! I remember the high school days when she would be thrilled to be out of school for a few days!!!

He sounded good and really likes the food. He got his wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago and he made it fine without me:)

ILMS/F- Pretty.

Hope you all get contact soon. I will tell you this, I was really struggling in a way nobody but my husband could understand. I even considered anti-depressents just so I could keep being "normal" take care of the other kids, continue looking for a job. I got the job the day before the first letter, then the call yesterday. Not too place so much importance on something we have no control over, but I want to share with you- when you think you won't even quit feeling that way-you will. Each day that passes and also knowing she is liking it and okay, has helped me feel "normal"

I'm not a drama queen at all and this experience of no contact with my child suddenly was harder on me then I expected. I could not imagine how hard it is on the SR. But it's true time goes fast, it does for them too, she told me yesterday she is surprised at how quick it's going.

We truly our blessed that the SR's in our lives have chosen a life of success and experiences for themselves.

FTLW-i HAVE my own "toto" named Reufus! Our SR misses just hanging out with our family & the "puppies"... wish we could've sent the two kids who NEED this experience than the one who already "gets it"... bittersweet phone call...
