We decided to drive to PIR today and the lines went quick. We left our hotel at 6:30 am. My husband dropped us off before entering the parking garage, we got into the walking line and it was a steady stream. We were able to get great seats and my husband found us right away. Easy-peasy :) PIR was amazing!
Anybody got pictures to share yet? Specifically looking for one of the chorus...
Great day even if we had to wait 4 hours to have liberty with my son, he was waiting on a medical test before he could get his orders. Now to get some rest before we meet him at O'Hare at 01:00. I could not of made it with out all the great info on here, Thanks
Today was an AMAZING day.
-Took the free shuttle at Great Lakes Motel at 6:15
-Got to RTC at 6:25 and waited in the cold windy rain... :)
-Seated by 7:20 in the second row!
-Pass in Review was great! Made me feel so proud of all the sailors who worked so hard the past 8 weeks.
-My sailor and I were out of the gates and back in the shuttle within 20 minutes of liberty being called!!!
Can't wait to spend the rest of the day tomorrow with him :)
Hope everyone else had a great day!!!!
Now I am just trying to plan how we are getting to downtown Chicago tomorrow... Anyone else planning on going? Wanna give us a ride?! *wink wink* :)
Congrats to those who are now Sailors and their families. Post pictures. We want to see!
Happy PIR day! Can't wait to here about your reunion with your new Sailors!
Congrats t each and every one of you, enjoy your SAILORS ! Can not wait to experience it myself!
virginiagirl: Too funny! Yep, every PIR has some dressed like that...my 25 yr old (at the time) son, who was with me, and who is not shocked by much...said, "OMG" as one strolled by (or should I say...strutted!) before PIR started. I swear...I thought she would fall over and break her ankle...her heels were so tall. The "people watching" part before PIR was one of our fav parts! :-) But happiness and joy was all around you, right? We LOVED that...such a great time...can't wait to see the piks from this PIR group...know that you had a FULL HOUSE!
Enjoy the rest of the time with your sailors everyone!
And, would love to hear how you all felt about PIR? Also, we N4Moms veterans (you are all part of this group now, by the way, so join us on the site to help the newbies in the PIR groups)...would love to know if we need to "correct" any of our info. So please be sure to post on here if something has changed and we are giving out inappropriate info. Most of our own sailors PIRed a long time ago...and we know there can be changes...so we depend on you all to let us know. Any info you can post on here --when all settles down-- will be greatly appreciated!
