Our experiences today will help other other new moms and or family members in the future. So lets set a good example, so that our SRs too can be proud of us. OK all on 11/106 gets a picture of the division posted to the RTC facebook page next week.
106 won the tues. trivia contest!! Be sure to look for your SR!!!Congratulations.
so true, they don't make anything the way they used to. alismz I hope you can find another car that works well for your hubby. maybe look for another like the one you had. And, I hope your teen is feeling better. It is the same teen who wrecked the car?
Good Morning, all!
alismz: My son had a fender bender with a sign pole when making a uturn. After seeing what it cost to fix it, I have decided that it doesn't take much to "total" a car these days. Makes me mad at how easily they are damaged in low-speed crashes. Ridiculous...I'm thinking I need to be in the car design business! Big solid bumpers all the way around the cars...how hard is THAT? Who cares what they look like??? HA! Because cars are not built to "stay together" if they hit something...ugh! No wonder our insurance rates are so high!
alismz- It was definitely a two-snicker kind of day lol. We got very lucky yesterday. My husband and I do estate cleaning on the side and a man called him yesterday morning and asked if he could pick up a washer and dryer and get rid of it for him. Since we sometime do scrap runs too (whatever it takes to pay the bills lol) he told the man he would pick it up right after work and told me he would be a little late getting home. He came to pick me up so we could go buy a new dryer and said he needed to stop by our storage unit for a minute. He opened the door and there sat a brand new (used 6 times) washer and dryer pair. They lady paid almost $1800.00 for the set and didn't like it. Oh HaPpY DaY lol. I love when good things like that happen :-) I hope you all have a fabulous day and get nice letter and calls this week :-)
omama- calls can come at most any time of day so just keep that phone close by. And your recruit may tell you that they can get their phones at the airport or they aren't allowed to take them with them to a-school. The RDC's often tell them that. But once they leave that base someone else in is charge of them and they can have their cell phones :-)
Yes...you can make the transfer of the Cell phone and any other items that he is allowed to take with him at the airport.
He will most likely write and let you know what he is allowed or he'll tell you when you get that "I'm a Sailor" call after BS21!
All new Sailors are given an in-depth briefing about the rules on liberty.
Also I have read some posts that say that you can give your SR their cell phones at the airport. Is this true? because I know I can not give it to him at graduation. He will be flying out to pensicola for "A" school.
those of you that have recieved phone calls, Is there a certain time of the day they seem to call?
i am glad some are getting letters and phone calls. I still have not received either one yet. :( I am hoping that I will receive a letter tomorrow. Thanks for the questionnaires. I am going to read some of them and print them out and send them off tomorrow. It is a great idea. Chins up everyone, Go NAVY!!!!
