~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Fresh squeezed, you bet their is room just jump right in. My daughter is on the older side and it is still hard on me. Granted she is an only child, but she is not a child. I can't tell you how proud I am of her for even making the effort to this at her age. I told her before she left graduate or not we will still proud. She has a lot of determination and that is the key ingredient.

My hubby just told me it is 10.7F and it is feels like -5. Hubby is from Chicago and he just laughs when he hears about how cold it is there for Sam. Dad's just think it makes em' tougher! lol

I just checked the mail and got my first real letter from our daughter. She was upbeat, she did say the first few days were exhausting and that Sunday things were a bit relaxed, got to take a longer shower and letter write. At first there were some personality clashes but they seem to be ironing working things out. She is amazed that the division is marching as well as they are and starting to work as a team. They took their first swim test, got their dog tags, they actually are in their uniforms and are out of their smurfs.

Hello all.  Just got my son's letter today.  He has a PIR of 4/11 which really surprised me.  The recruiter said it would most likely be 4/18.  He is on ship 11, div 142.  I am so proud of him but missing him like crazy. Everyday I picture him as one of the SR's in the bootcamp videos.  I am amazed by him and this opportunity for him.

RhondaJo welcome to the group most of us are feeling like you. I still get misty-eyed and was emotional when they made their calls to us on Sat. I was at the commissary and dropped the phone on the floor trying to reach for it. What ship is your son on? My daughter is Ship 03 Div 138.

My mother, who will be 84, is in to the dentist on Friday to have a wisdom tooth removed that is just now emerging. LOL  Yep, any potential problems in the future out they come.

Good morning!!

Comment by diannep on February 26, 2014 at 1:40pm

dia:  Not all have their wisdom teeth pulled...if they think they could be a problem when deployed, then they will pull them.  Sometimes they watch them for a while, and can pull them in A School if necessary.  It is a very common procedure in Bootcamp and they give them a couple of days of SIQ (resting in racks) afterwards.  They won't be delayed in training because of this.
