Got a letter from my SR.  He's been in SIQ again with stomach bug, said he's got a lot to catch up on, but better now. Said the Sick days go S L O W... was ready to get out and get busy. Doing some research about a song/poem for him  :)   

I had asked him if there were SR's not getting mail and he said a lot were not.  He gave the names of 9 SR's that he could remember.     If you would like a name (or two or nine) to help mail letters to, message me and I'll give them to you. :)

Mail call! DIV 141 We received 3 letters today. There really isn't much to share because we talked after the letters were written. He did mentioned that the Division has moved from CART to the "M" phase. CART: Command Assessment Readiness Training; phase 1 of boot camp; this phase includes both personnel inspections and bunk and locker inspections. It sounds like the only area that they had trouble with is the Personnel Inspection. I'm guessing "M" is short for Marlinspike M...arlinespike (USS Marlinespike): A three-day event onboard a life-size model ship where recruits practice mooring, line handling, putting out to sea and other aspects of basic seamanship. There is a retro virus going through but so far he has stayed healthy. He did hurt his ankle but kept quiet so he wouldn't miss PT. That from a man child that Mom could not motivate to PT. I guess the desire to get out of BC is a great motivator. I do worry that he is going to break, sprain or do something that gets him put on hold.

If your Sailor will fly out to a new base on PIR weekend and you plan to meet them at the airport you should mail this info on an index card to your recruit.  Once they get their itinerary they should fill it out and then keep it to give it to you at PIR. They won't have this info in time to mail it back to you. When they go back to their ship and rack to check out remind them to get this. This will keep you from ending up at the wrong airport. :)

I agree Dianne, this site needs everyone to remain active. If you are on Facebook please come here often and check in and post your questions and concerns. There are some here who don't "DO" facebook and some on facebook who are not on this site. So in order to reach everyone and find as many people from your division as possible we need to on both :) Someone may have the same question as you but for some reason won't post it so when you ask questions it helps others as well :)
