~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Love it sherry! My heart aches for those who dont have faith in their life, both for good and bad. Thanks for sharing!

Psalms 100:4-5 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I pray that through this tough time that you each call on the name of Jesus for comfort and peace. If you want to talk more offline you can PM me.

32 Days, 22 hours til PIR!

I read a few things  today and wanted to share them with you all with hopes you are encouraged as I was.

~No matter how softly you whisper a prayer, God surely listens, understands and knows the hopes and fears you keep in your hearts...And when you trust HIM, miracles happen.

~Don't pray for life to be easy, rather pray for yourself to be strong.

~Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God  will be with you wherever you go.

I know this isn't my "Christian Chat' room, but I am a believer and know that God is in control and holds each one of in His hands. Once you ask Jesus into your heart will give you a peace that passes all human understanding. This reminds me of the old bumper sticker "Know Jesus, Know Peace. No Jesus, No peace".

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I wanted to invite my son's extended family to write to him in boot camp, but it didn't seem good enough to post a private message on Facebook with his mailing address.  So I made up a flyer to send out to family and close friends.  It gives the time frame that he will be in boot camp, mailing tips (such as no food or packages) and where he is headed off to after boot camp.  This way everyone will have something to hang on their refrigerator and, even if they don't end up mailing a letter to him, they can see his picture and think good thoughts for him.

I have attached the flyer here in case any of you would like to do something similar.  I have taken off my SR's specific information.

I love how Lita said in the Ship 09 forum that "we are all on the same ship!"

As others have said, my son had already been away a year at college, but it did not prepare me for the tears that would hit me a couple of hours after he left for MEPS.  It felt like my job as mother closed some type of chapter as I turned my son over to the Navy and let him go out to to live in the world.  As we know "a ship is safe in the harbor, but that is not what ships are built for."  Since the day he was born, I knew this time would come and I would be a proud mother seeing him go out into the world.

I finally reached peace when I was able to speak with him for 40 minutes last Saturday.  It put any fears to rest that he was being tortured in boot camp.  Since last Saturday when many families received calls from their SR, I seem to sense a greater calmness among the mothers on this forum.
