OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello all! Finding it hard to think of anything besides my SR and PIR!!!!! It seems like it has been forever since a phone call from her!

On pins and needles. Didn't think I'd be this nervous!

Ry-Mom, my son said "PLEASE don't forget to bring underwear because these whitey tidies are BRUTAL."  I got the idea that everyone agrees wholeheartedly!

Diannep,  Good Morning!

I know this has been discussed but I failed to take notes (sorry) ...When we meet our sailors at the airport we can give them their phones, and other small personal  items.  The items have to fit in their back pack right?  And what do I keep hearing about underwear?

Comment by diannep on April 9, 2013 at 8:15am

Totally understand, ohwhere!  :-)

Good Morning All !

It says it's supposed to rain on Friday :-( I really can't believe that with the weather here in CA. I don't think I know how to function in the rain. Ha Ha ;-) Just glad I'm doing a taxi I hate driving in the rain. I hope we all make it there safely.

Thanks Diannep,

I'm sure my husband paid for them already then. I haven't seen it taken out of our bank account though so I wonder when that happens. I don't want to waste any of our time together :-)

Oh, Winski, I do wish you could bring that 77 degree weather to GL with you!  I was hoping to escape foul, cold, wet, rainy, windy, slushy, snowy weather here in the Saginaw Bay area of Michigan, but (obviously) that ain't gonna happen!  Ugh!  I'd give anything for 77 degrees, sunny, and breezy (it can only help my mudbogger's paradise they call a driveway!).  See you in GL!

Comment by diannep on April 8, 2013 at 11:38pm

ohwhere:  If your SR can pay for the pictures, they will and either will pay to mail them to you....or....hold them and give them to you after PIR.  If they don't pay for them, then, yes, you go to the NEX after PIR to pay/pick up the pictures.  My son happened to have a credit card (mine with him on it) with him, so I told him to put it on that.

Comment by Winski on April 8, 2013 at 11:23pm
I'm seeing cold, cold, cold for Thurs., Fri., and Sat. So jeans and sweaters for this Tennessee girl! We had 77degrees today and I wish I could take it with me!

That is a great questions ohwhere! Our son said he ordered them also and did not say anything about us going to pay.
