Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

BattleStations for this group will start later next week and continue during PIR week. So this is week 5 for them, with week 6 starting for some divisions by week's end.
Remember, if you do receive a BattleStations date from your SR, we are not allowed to post those on here or on FB. You must private message the dates.

Sorry I was MIA today, I had to work on getting things ready for Taxes yuck yuck yuck lol.
Those who sent me a friend request I accepted those and sent you the information about ordering ribbons. Let me know if you have any questions at all :)
As for names for special ops or any other rate/job you can get first name, last name or Proud Mom/Dad/Wife etc. :)

Mom3rnpa, I think that today they are on 5-4, so they are finishing up week 5??? The letter I received from my SR last week dated 03/17 said that 03/18 would be 4-3 day for them...
Not sure about when they will start BS??? According to Navydep.com they will have gas chamber stuff next week and then after 6-4 day they should start running the divisions thru BS (I think :) because 6-4 day is when they start learning how to march into the building where PIR takes place.
We are on the home stretch now!!!

so I have lost track as I haven't spoken to my daughter in what seems like forever. Are we finishing up week 6, moving onto week 7- therefore battle stations could happen anytime during week 7?

CleBuis: The ribbons are made by Lala Ribbon Queen (she posts on here...one of our N4Moms veterans) and they are to be worn at PIR. She does a beautiful job and gets them to you promptly. You can find her under the MEMBERS tab up top...or wait for her to post here soon and contact her from from her page (friend request). You won't be disappointed!
