OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

This group is in Hell Week right now (training week 4) which is a very very busy week for them.  I would be surprised if there are any calls during this week, but you never know.  Probably not until this weekend, possibly.

Yes, Cammy.  Occasionally they do fly out on Sunday, although not often.  That is why we tell you all to try and stay through the weekend....just in case.  He may not know for sure what day he is flying out until PIR week.

...and don't worry about Lala getting the little dress to you on time!  She is wonderful about getting things to you all in a timely manner!  She evens sends to your hotel if need be!

Tracy54, My gues would be this is a very busy week for them. Look through the links on N4m to see what they would be doing in this week of boot camp.

Is there any chance they fly out on Sunday?  I read everywhere that it was Saturday, so I had bought tickets/arranged everything so me and the baby left on Saturday as well (one less expense for rental car and hotel).  My husband mentioned in his first letter something about Sunday, but he wasn't sure.  I'm waiting to hear if he gets a definite day he's leaving, so I can change my flight and hotel/car if I need.

Also, LaLa I ordered the little dress for my baby girl the other day!  :)  I can't wait for her to wear it to PIR.  I am leaving on Thursday the 11th, so it will have to get to me by that Weds the 10th at the latest!

No letter no call it's his 21st birthday today. This was a rough day for me. Why haven't they called?

My daughter (in Nashville) got a letter from her brother the SR today.  She'll read it to me later.  I'm very happy!

We didn't get a call either. Though from his letter we were expecting one. Now hoping for this weekend.

Ship 04/ Div 809. He will be staying in GL for A school.

They usually bus them from RTC to the airports (Midway/OHare) in the wee hours of the morning, usually Saturday.  Then they wait for their flights.  Some may be waiting a while.  That is when you all can meet them out there and wait with them, getting a gate pass (with your ID) to wait at their gates with them until departure.  It takes a while for all of the sailors to be processed when they arrive at the airport, so if you arrive before they do, be ready to wait a while!

Hell Week is training week 4 (usually about bootcamp week 5 or so).  Very busy week for them, up early, lots of inspections, etc.

Yes, you can mention where his A School is and when he will be heading to the airport if he told you that.
