N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Not a stupid question, and yes the weather widget is accurate. They are having spring like weather there...LOL.

Don't know where you live, but it is spring time here too (Colorado), trees budding and crocus blooming. This morning it was 23 degrees, and it has managed to hit 47 right now, so light jacket and yard work. :)

When I was in GL last year on 4/20, it was chilly during the day, and Sat we did have to scrape ice off the windshield. It probably won't be warm in GL for this PIR.

Stupid question, I'm sure, but is the weather icon above really accurate?  Only 21 degrees today in Great Lakes?  Here I was this morning, driving to work in a convertible with the top down and thinking it was cold (in that I actually turned the heater on...) while it was nothing of the sort especially with our kids having this extremely cold weather.  YIKES!!!  (Okay, yes, I am feeling a bit guilty right now -- LOL!)  Does anyone know when "Spring-like" weather normally hits Great Lakes?

LaLa, you never stop, do you?!!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on March 20, 2013 at 10:35am

Yeah, she is going to do it online because then no matter where they get sent by the Navy she can still complete her classes and after the baby is born she can do it while the baby sleeps :)

Good Morning All!

Comment by diannep on March 20, 2013 at 8:17am

If she is doing it online, Lala, makes it easier time-wise.  The work is usually assigned for a week in many cases and she can do it according it at her own pace then.  Since she is such a good student, I bet she can get it done.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on March 19, 2013 at 9:47pm

That is what she is checking into. I think it depends on when the class will be over and if she can miss a class if need be when the baby is born. But Hopefully she can do that :) I know she has met all the requirements so it should work out to her advantage.

Lala:  Maybe she can step it up and start in the summer???  Is that allowed?  I know that my son started online last June (12 week semesters).  They will grandfather in those who are already in the TA program if anything changes.

Hi, I am new to all of this. So glad I found this website. What is the skinny on the Meet and Greets?
