N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

If you all didn't get to see The Bible on History Channel tonight, a 5 part 2 hr each series by Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) and her hubby Mark Burnett, be sure to catch the next episode next Sunday night.  Beautifully done!

Congrats on the calls!  And just know that the calls get more and more positive as bootcamp goes on!

I too got a call from my daughter yesterday.  We talked for about 22 minutes.  It was so great to hear from her!  She was emotional and homesick.  She said she had passed her first physical tests, she has had 5 shots, she had already received 2 of my letters, and she will be able to mail her first letters today.   She is seeing the dentist next week and she was unsure whether or not they were going to take her wisdom teeth out.  We decided her division started week 1 day 1 this past tuesday so that should help me get a better understanding what she is doing day to day.  She said it has been hard and she thought of quitting once.  It sounds like her division is going through growing pains...I asked her what I could be praying for her and she said....."everything" LOL!  She said her RDOs are GREAT!  That is good to hear!!!  She said she was having trouble memorizing everything.  I encouraged her as much as I could....sure wish I could see her....give her a big 'ol hug.  I'm going to continue praying....but specifically for the divisions....that they will continue to come together as a team.

OH....her job.....the head....she is cleaning the toilets....haha...my husband told her when she gets home that ours needed cleaning too!

I'm crying like a baby, just watched Lost Valentine on the Hallmark Channel. It was about a young woman who waited at the train Station every Valentines Day for her Sailor to come home who was missing in action for 66 years. It was real good but definitely a tear jerker for this Navy Mom :)

Hey moms that didn't get a call, I just got one. He said he was on watch yesterday and couldn't call. He only had 5 mins and others were waiting. So keep your phones with you! Your SR might be trying to call!

Ahhh, that's ok, Winski!  I just like to put a Good Morning out there...kind of the start of each new day!  You are so sweet....glad it puts a smile on our face!  :-)

Comment by Winski on March 3, 2013 at 7:13pm
Diannep thank you for always telling us good morning. That's so sweet, and we hardly ever respond, but I know we all notice as we're rushing off to work or starting our daily routine. It always brings a smile to my face even if I don't take the time to respond.

Mrshelvey and ohwhere I'm so sorry y'all are down. It IS hard when you can't just pick up the phone or text or something! I find I am taking my phone everywhere... Right beside the bathtub, at the dinner table, on the elliptical, etc. i even have it right beside me on the pew at church, and ive never done that ever! and I'm not even expecting a call for another week or two!

@ diannep Thank you for your encouragement and all the information you share on this site. Truly I appreciate all the energy you put in.

@ Mrshelvey12 I’m so sorry you haven’t gotten a call yet. I know I shouldn’t be complaining and that I am very fortunate that I did get mine yesterday. But any way you slice it this is a hard time for all involved. I pray you get a call this week and your letters start rolling in. Hang in there.

Sorry I have not been on here. I'm on the mend from a sinus infection!

I know you probably have already gotten most of this info but I am adding it to your PAGES section so you have future reference to it and for any brand new Members:

(all are direct links to your PAGES section here on your PIR Group)

I'll post the direct links to two older ones on there as well:
