Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 157 and 158

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thank you for taking care of us newbies. It is truly appreciated!

I would love to know if anyone had received a phone call.. #notsopatientlywaiting

I got a phone call March 2nd at 1:52pm central time. We spoke for 8 minutes. He needed some phone numbers and addresses of a couple of his friends. I think it was part of their background check. He's going into Intelligence - not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. But he sounded really good. Said they're getting up between 4-5am. He said they supposed to get 2-3 more phone calls during BC. I didn't have all the info he needed. He said that was fine because he gets to make as many phone calls as it takes to get what he needs. He also said the calls were free. The number was an 847 area code and showed up as Waukegan, IL on caller ID. Hope that helps. I hope everyone gets a phone call soon and their SR is doing well!
I got another call at 9:20CST!!! Talked for 13 minutes. I think it was just those in IT in the division. He's doing great! He said tomorrow they'll be Week 2 Day 1. He did say they've had some people drop (I didn't totally understand what he was talking about) and there are now only 81 in his division 157. I was in a doctor's appointment when he called...so glad I had my phone ready! And the doctor was so sweet and told me to take my time and stepped out to give me privacy. It was my first time to see this doctor, and I thanked her so much for allowing me to talk as long as I could! Ok, gotta go to work!
My SR is ship 03 div 157, too. I only have received the 15 second phone call, personal box, and form letter, Hoping this week will yield some form of communication! Not in IT division.

My nephew is also Ship03 Div 157.  We have recvd 2 lttrs and 1 very short phone call.  We are hoping he is able to call on Easter.  We just made our airplane and hotel reservations.  Since there are so many of us going, some of us will be watching in the Chapel.

People dropping would be either those who have quit, sent to RCU, or asmo'd.  Generally divisions start with approx 88 in each division (that number can be higher or lower), and by graduation it will be less. There may also be some who join the division that were previously asmo'd or in RCU.

What is RCU and asmo'd?

My SR is also Ship 03 Division 157, nothing yet.

Sorry I had to cut it short today. He did say he received our letters! However, he said their letters won't go out until next Monday. He did say he's written me 2 letters though! I asked if he's getting enough to eat and if food was ok. He said yes - they have to give them 3 meals a day and that it's really good! He mentioned pizza and pasta. He did say there was a guy (he didn't mention his name) who messed up and called one of the officers by the wrong rank (or whatever it's called -sorry I don't know all the lingo yet!) and she chewed him out. The guy had to do air squats and was really upset. Austin said he went and joined him and a bunch of them did. And they were really proud of them for being a team! He said the weather was pretty nice today. He's going to Pensacola for A School and did inform me he'll be flying out Saturday right after graduation (though I've pretty much gathered that from all the great info here). Sad to hear that, but glad to know. So anyone else who's got loved ones heading to Pensacola, now you know how little time we have at graduation. Oh well...at least we can get phone calls after then! And FaceTime. Does anyone else here have someone going to Pensacola? Anyone else going into intelligence?

Navy Intelligence Specialist (IS) A school is in Dam Neck, Virginia, not Pensacola. Perhaps he is one of the Cryptologic ratings that train at Corry Station?

Also, "he'll be flying out Saturday right after graduation"? Most Sailors do fly out on Saturday, but graduation is on Friday morning.

Bravo Zulu to your SR and others joining him. Team work is what is all about! I am sure the RDCs took notice!!! Again, a big Bravo Zulu to your SR and the others!
