Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Mitch: My son is headed to Pensacola as well. He is not certain at this point how long he'll be there. The recruiter said 6 months...somehow from his letters it sounds like it may be different. We will find out soon enough as he said within the next few weeks he'll get his job detail.

LaWanda: Write and ask your SR if any in his division want to join you after PIR if they have no family coming. Your SR may have someone in mind to ask.

Leach: CatMom has more info about the baskets. I believe that you take the basket to the MeetandGreet and it is "raffled off", the money going to Sarge to help reimburse him for his out of pocket expenses for the MeetandGreet dinner, etc. I don't believe you provide the tickets...but let CatMom answer this....she is the expert! :-)

Happy Friday and hello to all!
Is anyone in this PIR group going to make a basket for the Meet and Greet event, that is if you plan on attending?
I am thinking of making one with Chicago Sports theme.
Question to all the veteran moms - can you please provide info as to how this works? Who do i give the basket to at the meet & greet? how are the tickets sold? do i have to provide the tickets, etc...

I got a letter today too! My son is staying in Great Lakes for A School. Can't believe we only have 3 Fridays left till PIR!!!!!
