~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hola!!!

how is everyone? it's been quiet in this group but i hope that is just a sign that everyone is moving along and growing in their new groups.

Yesterday via FedEx, I received my DVD of the PIR!!! gosh, i had to take a moment to count back and realized that it has been almost 7 weeks since April 18th! That is almost the length of boot camp and these 7 weeks went by way faster!! I wanted so bad to sit down and pop it into the DVD player but it just wasn't the right time cause I had errands I needed to run. I just want to pick a day and time that I can sit down and not worry about anything else and watch it and this time soak it all in.

Wish everyone a happy day! Take care!!

Hello, hello again!

Hope everyone is well!

Angelina - how nice that soon you will be reunited with your hermanito! I bet he is going to love the surprise and more so because you will be celebrating your bday together. It is so nice thatyou two share such a special bond! Did you say you were going to bring one of the dogs too? How is A school going for him?

Yes, good question. I have also thought about HuntersMom and wondered if her son was able to continue on. It looks like she is still a member of this group.

BrittBratt - have you been able to communicate more often with your Sailor? i hope so. You just keep sending him love!

As you all know, my Sailor is in Norfolk and it has been an adjusting time for her so sometimes I get a text or a call and I wish I could just be there with her...she is def. feeling homesick now. Her bday is coming up and this will be her first bday we don't spend together...oh I miss my baby girl so much. I pray for her and all of our Sailors.

Leach-- I'm trying. I usually text him every morning and send him videos to his phone on my lunch break and things like that... but like I said.. I'll assume it's because he's busy since I haven't really spoken to him often.
Comment by Leach73 on May 28, 2014 at 9:52am

yes, you hang in there Britt - I am sure you are on his mind but because of his A school, you are right, he is probably very busy. Are you able to write to him, send him cards, or care packages?

Angelina - yes! this past weekend my hubby and I drove to Norfolk. It was a quick trip but we hope to be able to back one day soon and not rush it.

Hope everyone's Sailor is doing well! :)

Angie-- Its okay ! Lol ! Work is going great. Just busier than ever lately.

Leach-- Honestly, we haven't had much time to talk about anything... Communication hasn't been the best but I'm sure its because he's busy and my work hours are crazy... It worries me a bit.. But I'm hanging in there and trying to stay as patient as I can.

Leach that is a cool story. I still remember at our Sailor's Grad after I hugged my brother I told to turn around I couldn't believe it was a SAILOR. Well I did through just a little colorful language but you know what I mean. Your driving to Norfolk?

Hello everyone?

BrittBratt how is work?

Comment by Leach73 on May 27, 2014 at 2:25pm

Yes Sammy, it was an awesome road trip and I will do it again as soon as I am able to go see her.

A couple of years ago, I was on a flight on a Saturday morning to San Antonio for a wedding. My daughter was also withe me. A freshly graduated Sailor (female) sat next to me in her dress blues and had her orders in her lap. She was on her way to San Antonio and I just made small talk with her and thanked her for serving and wished her well. That was in January 2012, a couple of months later is when my daughter told me she wanted to join the Navy and if I could imagine her wearing that uniform....fast forward and here I am and my daughter is a Sailor!! I always think about that Sailor I saw on the plane and I can still remember her face. I hope she is doing well. So, anyway...it was my first time in San Antonio and it was very nice. The river walk was nice and the wedding I went to was amazing! I'd like to take a trip back to San Antonio so all of you with Sailors there...lucky if you go to visit. Norfolk was nice too..the little bit that I saw.

ABHMOM - i know what you mean. Now i think 4th of July and all other patriotic holidays will mean a whole lot more!

Angelina - amiga!! how are you?? you still planning your trip to come back?

BrittBratt - have you started wedding plans?
