~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hey Leach73 - that sounds like an awesome road trip!! Glad you got to spend some time with your Sailor! :)
I got to visit my husband at his A School in San Antonio over the weekend. It was my first time there so we explored the area a bit and had a great time. It was hard saying "see you later" again last night, but I'm already looking forward to my trip back for 4th of July weekend!
I hope everyone else had a great Memorial Day weekend as well! <3
Hi everyone!! Hope the weekend was great for all and I don't know about you but for some reason this Memorial Day meant something a little different for me...it was more emotional, more meaningful. God bless our Sailors and all military branches for the selfless service.
Well, I got some news...kinda crazy, but good...
So, last week my Sailor left to Norfolk...from what I had read on the Norfolk group, a car is needed because the base is so big and things to do off base require transportation. Lo and behold, she texts me on Thursday and says she thinks it would be helpful to have a car...So, Friday after work, my hubby and I decide to plan as fast as we can, we booked plane tickets for our return on Sunday and to leave Saturday morning...and so we did. We started off in Illinois, drove thru Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and in to Virginia...all in 14 hours!!! Crazy, right??!! omg! My daughter was with a friend so we picked her up and she came with us to the hotel. The next morning, we got up and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and had plenty of time to chill-ax and talk about her experience so far. We did go on the base and saw all the ships docked on the piers. She is on a Destroyer! (sounds so scary, right?) Our flight was at 6pm on Sunday, so she drove us to the airport and gosh, you'd think that by now it would be easier to say "see you later" to her..but no, when i hug her, it is just hard to let go! So our flight left Norfolk, flew to La Guardia in NY, then to Chicago....so a total of 7 states in 2 days...wow!
i hope we get to go back and visit her soon but this time, stay and tour.
hope everyone has been in contact with their Sailors! God bless them all!
HOOYAH!!
Angelina....we had a K-9 memorial service in Fayetteville, NC a little while ago. I have a Search and Rescue Dog and a Therapy dog and am so glad to see our furry heroes recognized as well as our human ones:)
Top of the Morning to everyone!
And I too have not received the Keel. I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying their Memorial Day Monday.
BrittBratt0820 how is your son doing? How are you?
so in honor of Memorial Day I will be visiting Riverside National Cemetery. I have never been and I was told they have a wall or memorial to service Dogs who have served also in our armed forces. I look forward to that. I told my Brother I was going he was oohhh he always wanted to go to. We just never got around to it. Semester is over for me I hope to be in more communication with everyone. you all are still my blanky. I miss my Brother sooo much even still that he has his phone. bye for now
Me too!
Morganna, I'm also waiting for the Keel.
I have not.....
My Sailor's rate is undes. She stayed at GL for 3 weeks after PIR and graduated, came home for 10 days and she left for Norfolk today.
