OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I thought I would share a pic of my Sailor/daughter and my grand baby <3 I am loving having them here for sure :) My Sailors had to go to a near by base to take their advancement test this morning so I am babysitting :) So much fun spending time with her <3

ASMO mean getting set back in training and getting a new PIR date. I know it's hard but try not to worry. They often get sick and get lite duty or SIQ (sick in quarters) and can miss some training and still graduate on time. You all are in my thoughts and prayers <3 I hope your SR feels much better soon and has no delays in training.

We got a letter today! He is sick and on light duty. He said he might get ASMO back to 1-1. What exactly does that mean?

Lala:  Glad that you were able to get back on here...I know your computer has NOT been cooperating!  Hope that it either gets resolved, or a new computer is on your horizon!

Hope you are feeling better, HuntersMom!

Anita!  Agreed!  It is wonderful when they have someone in their family they can talk to who is military or former military so they understand what they are going through!

Many times, after a SR becomes a sailor, they get on this site.  They may not always POST, but I bet they read the advice that the ladies are sharing....the networking on here is amazing!  Problems solved!  :-)

Good Morning All !

If your Sailor will fly out to a new base on PIR weekend and you plan to meet them at the airport you should mail this info on an index card to your recruit.  Once they get their itinerary they should fill it out and then keep it to give it to you at PIR. They won't have this info in time to mail it back to you. When they go back to their ship and rack to check out remind them to get this. This will keep you from ending up at the wrong airport. :)

Please fill this out when you get your flight itinerary/orders and then give it to us at PIR. Do not mail it.

Hi All! My son is in Ship 3 Div 148, I received his 2nd letter today, says is doing well but thinking about how hard this week is going to be, he also called on Sat and sounded more confident than the week before (homesick). My son was very excited to join the US Navy and more excited when he knew he was going to go to Chicago for boot camp (snow in winters and fresh air in summers), since we live in the hottest spot of the Arizona Desert, he doesn't like our summers with 3 digits temp, well, now he is looking forward to complete his boot camp and wishing really bad snow season ends soon☺ Looking forward to see him!!!⚓

No letter today. But my sister and her husband got a letter from my son. My brother-in-law is in the Navy so my son wanted a little advice. So glad he has someone like my brother-in-law to talk to. Too bad the Sr's don't have a site like this one to reassure them everything will be ok and so worth it once they get through boot camp!

I am sorry I haven't been on I have been really sick. But do read everyone's comments. Hello Stacy that's alot of letters lol. That's great. I will take what I can get. My son isn't a writer either. Hugs to you all. Ship 3 division #148
