OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Leach, is your Sailor done with A School already?  Or is she going to A School in Norfolk?

Comment by Leach73 on May 19, 2014 at 2:07pm

Hello all!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I did! My last one with my Sailor for a while. She leaves to Norfolk tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a Sailor from this PIR group that also went to Norfolk, or will go? and is from Div. 145?

Leach, you're absolutely right! Those moments are the ones that matter the most to me. Very much worth cherishing. I have my Sailor's favorite hoodie that I sleep in every night as if his he was still holding me. Seems cheesy, but it got me through. I get a text and phone call every night and every morning from him to start and end the day. Not too much longer before I see him again :)

BrittBratt - it's those moments that are so precious and we must cherish...just having the ones we love so close to us. The first night she left to bootcamp, I took her favorite snowman fleece blanket and slept with it just to feel her close and I am still doing it!

One day soon, you will have your Sailor next to you again. I'm sure you are the last one on his mind before he goes to sleep and the first one on his mind when he wakes up! That's amore!

Leach! That just made me tear up... and I'm at work too.. lol. Thanks for sharing that. It bought back so many memories of me laying next to my Sailor while he slept.. and just staring at him and mesmerizing. How proud I am of him, and how much I love him. Beautiful story. Have a wonderful day, Fam!!!

Hello my Navy sisters!!

hope you are all well! The weather here has been cray-cray!! Monday it was in the 80s...today's high will be mid 50s and rain, rain, rain! Mother Nature has a sense of humor I tell ya!

Ok, so just want to share a story with ya'll...

The other night, I was in my bedroom watching TV (hubby was asleep) and I usually lay down on my tummy and face the TV because this relaxes me, so anyway...my Sailor daughter comes into my room and tells me to skooch over and she got comfy next to me and we both watched the Food Network show Chopped. Next thing i know, she tells me, 'mom, i just want to fall asleep here next to you' (of course I didn't object) and she lays her head on the pillow on her side facing me. A few minutes later,  I looked over and her eyes were closed and she was out! She looked so pretty, so peaceful, so comfy, so innocent...I just stared at her...My eyes were glued to her face and I just wondered "God, you created her and I know you have a plan for her..."

It was as if I was looking at her for the very first time when she was born, her sweet little face...it's like I just replayed her whole life from the day she was born til that moment and my has the time zoomed by! Here she is now, a US Navy Sailor and in a few days she will be flying out to her next part of this journey to Norfolk. The selfish me feels complete right now having her home and everything just feels normal. She adores her 2 younger brothers and they adore her. We are savoring every day that she is here and again, the time is zooming by and soon we will say 'see ya later' again to her. I'll try my best not to cry :(

Well, that night she slept next to me and woke up at 5am and she went to her bed...I'll admit that I sacrificed my comfort just to have her next to me for that night because that day at work i was having a hard time staying awake!! hee hee!!

sorry i have made this so long but I know that I can come here and share. Lucky for me that I also work close to home so I will be going home to have lunch with her today. God is good! God bless our Sailors. God bless America!

have a great day my sisters!

HOOYAH!!
