~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

The good news about having just 7 divisions is that would be considered a smaller PIR....which means lots of room in there for everyone! We have had a PIR group in the past that had 15 divisions in it! YIKES ! That PIR Hall was bursting at the seams! My son's PIR group had 9 divisions....plenty of space then too, so I know if only 7 divisions, it will be even better!
Demetris: Hoping that if anyone on here has training questions, maybe you can answer them? I'm sure that we can't explain the actual training as well as you can....being a former RDC and with children already in! Thanks for any help you can give!
So it looks like the next TGs form letters are starting to arrive. :) The RTC has not confirmed this yet, but It appears that there are 7 divisions for this TG. Seven divisions would mean 4 guests for PIR.
Hopefully there will be a couple more form letters received, or the RTC posts to confirm the number of divisions soon.
Divisions as I have them:
143/144 Ship 13
145/146 Ship 14
147/148 Ship 03
923 Ship 02
I will be posting division discussions above later this evening or tomorrow sometime.
Hey Yall. My son is Ship 3 div 148.l Can't wait til 4/18. He will be doing PIR 3 days after his 23rd birthday. :)
Rainesmom ty.. I can't stop crying.. :(
momma4, I have no advice just big hugs and love!
My daughter is in Ship 02 Div 923
You're welcome momma4! Remember too that when they are making that first list they are being yelled at to hurry, what the address is, when PIR is, instructions as to what to do next, etc. It is very hurried, loud, everything is new etc.
We have even heard names written, Mom, Dad, Uncle Bob, grandma, my girlfriend, even pets names have ended up on the list. LOL
Keep up the encouragement, keep writing letters, etc. don't get upset at this point, there are several weeks left.
Ty Ellen0502..
momma4, The form letter is also not the final list for graduation, at this point it is just a list. Sometime in the last couple of weeks of BC the SRs will be asked for the names of their guests for PIR, and that list will be the one for PIR.
The number of guests allowed and the rules about extra guests changed in January a year ago, but there has only been a handful of TGs this past year that have only allowed three guests to PIR. I am keeping my fingers crossed this group will be allowed four.
Hopefully sometime this week there will be posts here that give a pretty good indication about number of guests, or the RTC will get the latest TG information posted on their website.
MimiR, what division is your daughter? and thank you..
