Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Demetris: I need to correct you---there have been changes since you were an RDC there ...I don't want to lead the ladies the wrong way. No longer is a shipmate allowed to put their shipmate's extra guests on their own list. RTC has spoken out strongly against this (please look at the Family Guide info). We do not recommend anyone asking their SR to find someone to do this! Could be big trouble for both of them. Yes, it used to be allowed, but not in the past year or so.

Let me remind you all that the number of divisions in this PIR group has not been determined yet. It most likely will be 4 since lately, the number of divisions per PIR group has been 12 divisions or less (which determines the guest number). However, if this group has 13 divisions or more, only 3 guests will be allowed.
I also need to remind everyone that your SR ultimately is the one who determines who he/she wants at PIR. This many times causes issues and lots of hurt. I hope that all family members who want to be there will be allowed to be....if not, you can at least watch the service on the Livestream.

she is going to his grandmothers to see whats on the papers. they told her only 3 names were on it.. which this could make me feel worse that he left me out on purpose. my heart aches...

How do I know if his division has 4 passes.. to me this is him telling me that he does not want me there.

hi.. I wasn't going to say anything, but I want to continue to be supportive to my SR and his fellow SR's... My son and I are closer as the years go on.. he is 23 lives on his own downstairs from his grandparents.. he has a fiance.. I know he loves me but he did not choose me for one of his passes.. Not sure if he only gets 3 in his division. I have been crying nonstop for 2 days.. I look like a prize fighter. The reason I am writing this is because I can't be the only mom to ever have gone through this??? I wouldn't wish this pain any mom. His fiance is shocked. I am sad and heartbroken, I feel sideswiped.. so I ask you, where do I go from here. I am at a loss.
