Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I got a call on Saturday and got to do a little skyping yesterday with my sailor.  It was also his brother's birthday, so the whole two birds, one stone thing:)

Mitch7790 - did you receive a call from your Sailor? I hope so!! and even though you still have your other kids around, a mom's heart is not complete when one is missing, right?

Greetings to all!

I think I can speak for all of us now everytime a Friday rolls around...Just thinking about the Sailors and their families today.

Today is also a HAPPY Friday for me on a personal level because I am going to pick up my Sailor today from GL. She has leave before she goes on to her next assignment so she will be home with us for a few days!!! Yippee!! This is the best Mother's Day gift ever!

To all the mommas, Wishing you a beautiful Mother's Day!

Take care. Peace and blessings to all for a wonderful weekend!

Hiii Leach ! Thank you so much ! Glad it's warming up. I'm coming back to Chicago to visit my sister. I kinda wish my Sailor was still in Great Lakes for A school. Would've been a lot easier for me to see him often. I enjoyed the train ride going up there for PIR :)
