N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got my ribbon today!!! Thanks again LaLa...it is beautiful !!!  I did not get my usual letter today from my SR :(  I was so looking forward to it. Hoping to get one tomorrow. He told me in his last letter that there was a stomach bug going around.  Sounds like it is still chasing everyone.  When we lay our heads down to sleep tonight, lets hope and pray for good health for all of our SRs.

Got a letter today! Woohoo. He had a sore throat when he wrote it, but said he was lucky also. everyone has had a GI bug, so at that moment he had not had it. Oh my goodness. I pray he hasn't gotten sick.....I'm so worried about tonight. He sounds ok though, just ready to be done. Good luck to our future sailors! Let the games begin!!

Question-I fly out of Ohare at 1 on Saturday-my SR would like a few things to take to A school-I would like to give her the things she asked for-if my flight leaves before hers can someone else find her and help me get her stuff.

thanks drewsmommary.... that does make me feel better.  that's funny about the water bottle. the seat cushion sounds nice, but not sure if i could take it back on the plane!! sounds like we're going to be bringing more home as it is!!!

Comment by D'sMomMary on April 11, 2013 at 7:47pm

yep, they seat you in a way that, when liberty is called, you are as close to directly across from your Sailor's div as possible. The military is very organized :) From what I've read, there's only 7 div's graduating? That should make things way easier. Oh, and like at any big event, they do have a sort of souvenier stand set up in the hall until just before things get started. So if you need a Navy seat cushion or cute little Navy hat for a child they gotcha covered. I only sprang for a bottled water, mainly because I wanted the label for my scrap book (it's pretty cool). Gaah, so excited for you all!!! I so wish I could be there!

me too!!! so excited.. got a letter today and she sounds great!!!
she said she thought she was going to freak out in the gas chamber, but turned out it wasn't so bad!!! cannot wait for her phone call. suppose to have battlestations today.
can't wait to get my ribbons. they should be here tomorrow. OMG. We have ONE week from today and we'll be there!!! can't wait to say 'hi' to you all... did someone say that we sit in our SR's division---like that division's parents all sit in the same area???
