N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

1st Time Navy Mom:  I can tell you that your division is NOT one of the ones going through tonight.  Yours will be early next week!

Comment by diannep on April 16, 2015 at 11:41pm

Yes, I do, 1st Time Navy Mom.  I can list them on here in the morning!  Can't post them until they are done!

Toured the Yorktown and the Laffey in Charleston, SC, today since in town for nephew's wedding. Met many retired Sailors who sailed on these vessels. Amazing listening to their stories. They beamed (as did I) when I mentioned my son will be graduating next week from bootcamp. My son would have love these tours (including a decommissioned sub)! Made me miss him even more, that he wasn't with us to share this experience as well as his cousin's wedding. REALLY looking forward to April 24th PIR!!

diannep, do you know what divisions go tonight?

Comment by diannep on April 16, 2015 at 7:27pm

animesweetart:  BattleStations start tonight for this PIR group for only some of the divisions.  The rest will have theirs Mon and Tues nights.  Captains Cup will be on Sat. morning for all divisions in this PIR group....a fun athletic time of competition between divisions!

Stevensmom, You should have plenty of time to talk after BS. It is not a scripted call, and your Sailor will probably be eating his first candy, energy drink, soda, and other assorted junk. :)

NavyWife95, When they wait to class up for A School, they still have duty, will be assigned cleaning etc. They are still kept busy.

animesweetart, The final PFA is done before BS, in week 6. Phone calls after BS start the day it ends, generally after 2pm.

The"I'm a sailor" call, is that quick and scripted? Or do we get to talk for a little while?

I have a question. My husband said his A school doesn't start until May 18th. What does he do in the meantime? Can he come home to visit? TIA!
