N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Like some of the other moms, I don't post very often but I do look at the comments and really can't say how much I have appreciated all the support and insight.  My family and I are really looking forward to meeting everyone.  I hope lots of folks are going to the meet and greet :)

Be sure to type in the gate pass password in ALL CAPS.  This was included in your form letter (in your SR's handwriting).  You may print as many as you need....I took some extras in case I lost one....then took the shuttle to PIR anyway so didn't need them!  :-)  It is a good idea to have one with you if you will have a car while in GL even if you are planning to use the shuttle.  Just in case!

Gate passes are available :)

nikkosmom:  We aren't allowed to post actual dates for specific divisions on here, but lately the PIR groups have been going Thurs night, the week before PIR week, and Mon and Tues night of PIR week.  It is a 12 hr overnight drill (see my BattleStations discussion above in the Forum).  Calls come in after 2pm Central on the day they finish.  It is very common for the last divisions to finish on Wed before PIR.  Believe it or not, in the past, sometimes they did BattleStations through Wed night of PIR week, with calls coming in the day before PIR.  Yikes!  But remember....they will pass BattleStations, even if they have to repeat it.  What can trip them up and could cause them to miss their PIR is not passing that final PFA (fitness).  So prayers that all of the SRs pass that 3rd and final test, which each SR must do if he/she want to go proceed to BattleStations (individual basis).   If you do NOT get a call from your SR by their BattleStations day saying that they didn't pass their PFA, don't come, not graduating....then go on no news is good news and proceed to PIR.  Those who get this dreaded call will need to wait for another call from their sailor (the only way they can call you again is if they are a sailor---before PIR) before heading to PIR.  If you go anyway and you don't have a sailor (they would stay in FIT division and keep trying for about 10-12 more tries but no PIR after they miss their own).....RTC will not let you see your SR.

Hope that all pass their final tests!

diannep What day(s) could their BattleStation be on? I talked to my SR last week and he thought their assigned day was April 22nd. He is in Ship 12 Div 159. I thought that seemed awfully close to PIR, so I wasn't sure.
