Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 149 and 150
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Morning Everyone and Happy St. Patrick's day...I didn't hear from my SR this weekend, and today I'm super tearful and missing her a lot. I'm going with no news is good news. Although, I'll be watching for the mail in A few days.
How's everyone else doing?
Chin up and sail on, that's what I write to my SR :-)
I got a letter, its kindof rough right now. My SR also was put on light duty. Due to a pinched nerve in her back. Hence, no phone call home because she wasn't allowed to stand more than 15 mins at a time. She was to see Dr on Monday hopefully she was released back to fit for full duty. I'll be keeping all of our SR's in my prayers.
I know...sometimes I feel like I bombard her with letters...lol. I think they love it :-)
I heard from my daughter on Saturday afternoon. Not sure if its because they let her have an extra phone call since she's having a hard time or if others got one too. She's been sick since the 2nd day there and is still sick. She feels like she's way behind the other girls and is really stressed out. Even wanted to give up. Today, I did get a letter, although really short, saying she feels better after talking to her dad and I and will continue to do her best. I think she's surprised at how homesick she is too. I'm so worried about her. Keep marking the days of the calendar!! Almost halfway there! Hope you all are doing well too!?!!
So Happy for your phone call, sometimes its just a relief to hear their voices. Prayers for our SR's for strength and endurance. Can't wait to hit that halfway mark :-) we're almost there Baby mom's....Hooyah!!!!
Lol..I think that was supposed to say Navy Mom's
Got our call!! She sounds so much better. Only a few tears this time. I'm so proud of her and all of our SR's. An updated on her back....your prayers worked, Thank you so much. However, her knee is acting up and she's having to ice it frequently. Please send more prayers for her knee and all the other SR's struggling with big or small injuries.
I'm so excited, I asked her if there was anyone that I could write to. So she gave me her friends name that hasn't got much mail. I'm going to start writing her today. We also offered to adopt-a-sailor after PIR, if her friend needs a family for the day.
She's really starting to like BC, after seeing the PIR group Fri...something in her changed, the group called her division "shipmates" and I think that made her feel proud and gave her the encouragement she needed. God is Good.
Got a call from our daughter this morning too!!! Just a few tears when it came time to say goodbye. Glad your daughter's back is better! Hope her knee heals quickly. My daughter's cold is finally gone and just complained that her boot sores were infected. My heart fills lighter and the constant stomach ache is gone. Although, I'll keep worrying about her!
I guess this is the last call until the "I'm a sailor" call. She said Hell week will start soon and then preparing for Battlestations. So proud of her. Can't wait until graduation!!
Yay!! for our phone calls. So glad her cold is better :) It was so good to hear her voice!! It'll be rough to not talk to her for 3 weeks. I told her to just write letters when she can and we'll talk soon. They're almost half way done...34 more days :)
As I keep telling my SR - Chin up and Sail on :)
Hi! This is my first time to actually post. I really appreciate all the info here and knowing everyone feels like I do...proud and sad at the same time! My daughter graduated college and then joined the Navy. I am so proud of her! She is becoming such an amazing, independent & spirited young woman!
I missed her very 1st call and when I listened to the message she left me, with a crack in her voice that sounded like she may start crying...just broke my heart! I cried for an hour! She did get to speak with her Dad and her cousin-who is really her best friend/sister! I did get to speak with her for the first time last Saturday and I have felt better about everything since then!
She was sick for the first few days with a cold and then had to have a dental procedure right after she was better. She is doing just fine now and I am so relieved! She makes me laugh---her only real disappointment is they haven't done a lot of physical training yet!!! At least in her opinion!
I heard from my daughter this morning again too! She sounded so proud this morning - got her dress blues for graduation! She is so looking forward to making that call to us in 3 weeks to tell us she is a "Sailor"! It is so wonderful to hear how happy she is! I know my girl is right where she belongs at this time in her life!
Hoping for quick recoveries, the best of luck & prayers for all our SRs! They are all amazing people!
