Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

PeacoatMama:

Hahahahaha yes mother in law from another mother lol.  I actually am pushing him to study A LOT because I know how much he needs to do so in order to pass.  I am glad that I have so much to do with school, finding a job, and a project I am doing :)

HIs bestie and him will get real meals if they choose but I am doing Paleo foods so they won't like that at all :(

Hi everyone. ..
I have my son home for a few more days, it was great having him home. Tuesday he is off to Norfolk, VA. Happy Memorial Day to you and your families. XOXO

Lizziebear....I can be your motherinlaw from another mother...or how ever they say that.  LOL  Looking forward to hearing all about your adventures in your new home with your sailor!!!  Now...just don't distract him too much.  He has a lot of studying to do.  However...you can occassionally feed your sailor and his BFF (aka my son).  They will need a "real" meal.

Wow!!!!  Can you believe it?  It already seems soooo long ago. I will cherish that weekend for the rest of my life. It was so special.  Everyone's sailor doing okay...adjusting to their new life?  Mine is at A School in Fort Sam and studying his hindie off!
