Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Have not heard from our SR in  couple weeks (ship 13 div 159)  Did I read that they may not get anymore calls until mid April?  Is that possible?

Yes. Got a call from son on Saturday and he called his brother today. He says he enjoyed all the fun shots he got at medical! They already did their first PFA and DEP (knowledge test).

Comment by ochaos on March 25, 2013 at 6:40pm

Div 164 is making phone calls home, just talked to  my son. He said he does not know why they are getting them today and that he has to get a root canal done - he is not looking forward to that.

Chele, I know we haven't confirmed that to be true. So we just have to wait and see how many calls really do come in. However, I will say that over the last couple of months it does seem like some have been getting more calls that they were in the past. Not sure if that is because of a very understanding RDC or if they are just getting to make more calls. We can hope for both :)

Good snowy morning everyone. Snow falling here in Western NC and i have had enough already lol. I want warm sunny spring days :)
