Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 165 - 166

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is with SHIP 12 DIV 166, anyone one else have a son in the same ship and division ?

My husband is on Ship 12 Division 166!

Has anyone heard from their recruits over the last week?

My son is also Ship 12, Div 166 - The last phone call I got was on April 4th (30 seconds) but we've been receiving the weekly letters.  In my son's last letter he did write that they "may" get to make a phone call on 6-3 (week 6, day 3), if it happens I'll be pleasantly surprised, but if anything, I'm awaiting the "I'm a Sailor!" call.   =)

I got a letter last thursday and a call on 4/3.  I know I am just waiting for that "I'm a Sailor!" call too! I know it has been tough on all of them, but like I told my husband- No one said it was going to be a piece of cake! I am just afraid I am going to get the call while I am attending my sisters wedding next week!

So, the letter he sent was last week (April 9) stating he was on week 4-1.  We ended up missing his very first call (March 14) and since that time we've forwarded all our calls to the cell phone, even the landline.  If, it works out as my son "hopes" the call can come on April 22-23 around 5pmish (California time).  I know the last letter he said that they were at the NEX making calls and it was flooded with a good amount of SRs making calls so that's why the call was so quick the last time.  I'm hoping that they kick butt in Captain's Cup which should occur on April 25.  Are you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet?

I have call forwarding set up too just in case- I think my husband also stated that calls should be in the middle of the week.  He was telling me they were struggling a bit as a overall unit but slowly they are getting there.  I really want them to succeed in the Captain's Cup and I told my husband I want him to get honors :)  I hope to go to the Meet & Greet- is it after the ceremony?

Sarge's Meet and Greet is held on the Thursday night before the PIR:  http://www.mynavytaxi.com/events.html  (if you plan on going be, this is the site to RSVP).  Yeah, my son said that they were struggling/getting better: they were a great team when it came to Marlinspike and then they were the Bad News Bears back at their dorms, lol.

Yes, that's what I heard they were all chatter boxes and getting in trouble.  I hope my in-laws do want to attend the Sarge's Meet and Greet.  I know our flight arrives at around 11am- so I hope we do.

Yeah, my son says that they end up sleeping late because some of them won't stop.  I really hope that they stop because BS-21 is coming up and they need all the rest they can get!  From what I've been reading, going to Sarge's Meet and Greet is very informative, friendly, and is a pre-celebration for the parents/loved ones of the SRs soon to be Sailors!  Maybe you can extend that idea to them, always good to be prepared!   =)

My husband gets frustrated- hes a bit older than the rest and of course he is I think the only married one at this point in time so it kinda makes it harder when you want to build a friendship/bond with someone when you are always in trouble because some of them are acting up.   I hope they all do great at BS-21- I was hoping to see pictures of 166 on the fbook page for RTC but I couldn't seem to find any.  I was reading a bit on the Sarge's Meet and Greet and I really do hope I get to attend! :)

Well, it sounds like your husband is not alone in the frustration department!  Yeah, I wish there were pictures of 166, I scanned at least three times all of the pictures, but bleh!  I'm hoping that our SRs can get together in BC - my son was the one that drew their division flag and he can get along with everyone. It certainly sounds like our SRs already have something in common: frustrated with "those few" that keep on making them do IT.
