~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello All,
I just received our son's letter yesterday as well. I could not believe how relieved I felt. I wrote him back within 1 hour with a funny mom questionnaire that I found on the N4M site and I pulled off pics from his farewell party on computer paper.
I'm so glad I am on this site!

Defoe'smom, carbonrob, and chanwife1 my SR is in the same
Division as well!! Ellen0502 thank you for that info!! My SR must be waiting since he was probably one of the first to arrive he got there March 7th! I have been confused so far I figured (or was hoping) to have gotten a letter by now. I guess until I can talk to him I will stay confused lol I hope he does well with having to do things in a shorter amount of time!

A PUSH division is a division that took longer to fill. Those arriving first were put on p hold until the rest of the recruits to fill the division arrive. Some recruits can be in processing and hold for two weeks. My sons processing and p hold was 15 days.

They will go through the same training as the rest of the recruits it is just done in less time. They may only notice things are moving quicker than the others in the TG.

It may be confusing for you to follow along as to what they are doing day by day, since they might not follow the "normal" schedule. The best thing to do is ask your SR what week/day it is for them, and then count from there. Ask what they did the week before and what they will be doing the next week, and then throw the "normal" out the window. LOL

My son was in a PUSH and I spent the first four weeks so confused. It wasn't until we all heard from our sailors that we understood why!

carbonrob, Recruits arriving on Tuesday and Wed (even Thursday sometimes) can be in the PIR group started the week before.

His division and brother division (div 163) look to be PUSH divisions. No worries, they will get it all done, it will just be a shorter amount of time in BC for them. :)
