~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Siouxlander!! What division and ship is your recruit.
Welcome, Siouxlander! So glad you found the group!
Anyone wanting extra prayer support may also want to join the group Christian Chat. Great praying group of ladies!
I've been down with the Flu so I've missed a couple days. I don't know what I last updated but I have her belongings, I got the letter, and I got to hear her sweet voice yesterday. She started the call off a little shaky but we got through it. I remember when I was in boot camp and I got to make that first call home. I didn't mean to cry, it was just such a release to be talking to "my people". They weren't home when I called so I cried on the answering machine. But remembering back to that, I kind of knew just what to say to her and we finished the phone call with laughs and her spirits were high. Amen. She has picked up the duty of Mail Petty Officer. The plus side to that is that she will always know right when she has mail and won’t have to wait. :) I have already put a number of letters and cards in the mail for her. Today is holiday routine for them which means they have alone time to do what they need or want for a while. I think she is going to take some time for Church today and that makes me pretty happy. I picture the Footprints in the Sand poem/picture when I think about her going to Church...that is the visual I get and I feel like it will help keep her strong.
MacksMommy: I know it must help you alot to have gone through this yourself...which would help her too since you can relate to each other over the experiences! So glad you got to talk to her!
Good Morning All !
If your sailor is staying in GL for A School, s/he will have liberty on Fri, Sat and Sun.
Friday you will have about 30-60 minutes after PIR before they report back to their ship to move over to the TSC side for school. This process takes several hours, and you will get a phone call sometime between 2-5pm letting you know they can leave for liberty until about 10pm.
On Sat and Sun your sailor will have from approx 6am to 10pm for liberty. They must be back each night and they cannot be late.
Their liberty hours can be different than what I posted, and they can vary from ship to ship. Your sailor needs to be back to their ship each night.
If your sailor is flying out for school they will be able to leave for liberty on Fri shortly after PIR, and must report back to their ship sometime between 8-10pm. They will leave the RTC in the wee hours of the morning for the airport on Saturday. You can go to the airport and wait at the gate with them until their flight leaves.
I want to start making travel arrangements to attend PIR. Do the graduates have more than a day of liberty? Also, when would be the best time to get a flight ticket?
Got our Call on Saturday.. it was short 6 mins.. but sooo good to hear his voice.. Said he was one of the first ones to make a call so had to keep it short since there were lots of guys waiting to call home.... GOSH I LOVE that kid..:)
Glad you liked it, Loralee....I totally agree! Being in the medical community, I know you could really relate to the hospital staff and all they went through as well! God is GOOD! :-)
