Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 165 and 166

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in Ship 14 Div 165.....I carried my phone with me all day saturday and accidentally  left it for a minute and I missed his call......I was devastated and sooo upset!

Ship 14, Div 165: They must have had a very short window. My daughter tried to call, husband was on the line and didn't know how to hang up and pick up her call in a big hurry...  He missed the call and she didn't call back him or me. Husband is still upset and mad at himself but I'm trying to be reassuring... I probably would have missed it too.  We're still techno challenged with our new phones.  In any event, I'm trying to stay positive... and hope we get a letter this week.  Hugs to all.. and hang in there!!!  We're 1/4 of the way done!

Beep57 I didn't get a call saturday and my boyfriend is div 165 as well :( hopefully he was just busy and everything's ok still

My son Ship 14 Div 165, I also missed his telephone call. He's an amazing strong courageous young man, I have no worries and am very proud! I mostly look forward to his hard work & dedication at the PIR, Super Excited! Cheers & Kudos to all these recruits & their families!

Has anyone booked flights for May 9 yet? Not sure whether to fly into Milwaukee using Southwest or Ohare using united? Just worried about shuttling from airport to hotel? I don't want to rent a car. Suggestions?

Hang in there J's mom!i did get a call today and we talked for about 15 minutes! Of course he reminded me that I didn't answer his call last Saturday but that's ok. He sounded good! Keep that phone nearby. Yours will call back. I wrote lots of letters which helped.its gonna be ok.

Is anyone going to Sarges Meet and Greet on May 8 thursday?

Hi Darlene

We will try depending on what time we actually get there.   We are scheduled to land at 4:48 Thurs at O'Hare and then we will rent a car.  So if its not too late we will be there.  We are staying at SpringHill Marriot which is very close to the meet and great.

Hope I get to meet some of the moms! Does your daughter know yet where she will be in line-up ? My son said he will be in front row carrying a flag, forgot to ask what side we should sit on or maybe sit up in balcony, they say you can see better.

I have no idea where she will be. I didn't know they would know this information by now.  Her letter didn't mention anything.  But thanks for the idea.  We will ask her in the next letter. So far we've only got one, but I know she's busy..  I sent her a couple of the questionnaires. It would be great if she sent that back.

Hello! My son is on ship 14 div 166 :) I am a proud mom new to the site! I have been trying to navigate my way through this and many other sites to find out as much info for PIR weekend and try to get knowledge what he is going through and how we can best support him. Is there any other moms with their loved one with my son? I have received 2 calls/letters so far, both brief and cherished! I know they are in the thick of it now. We have booked our flights and hotels. I just learned of "meet & greets". Is anyone going the previous Thursday, May 8th? If so, it sounds like there are different ones? I've heard of two, one at the Sundance Saloon and another at Flannigan's. I'm just trying to be as prepared for my son as I can be to make his graduation/liberty as special as I can! My thoughts and prayers are with my son & all SR's!! Love & strength to them all!!!

Any one received any other calls? Letter yesterday to his uncle, saying division is coming together but there has been some crazy things, such as people be "kicked out" and people doing crazy things which get them in trouble. Not sure what he means but that all SR that really want to be there are gonna make it.
