Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 179 - 180

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good morning!

This is cool! My SR is my 20 year old daughter S-PACT- going to A school for 3 weeks after PIR in Great Lakes, then to the fleet. Anyone else's daughter doing SPACT?

good morning first time here and new to all of this. My son is also in Div. 179

me too! how exciting.

Thank you for asking. We just received his first letter yesterday and he is doing great.  How is your son doing? We are excited about graduation. I am excited to hear this week is picture week.

Hi ,my son is also division 179
My SR will be 19 4/15 and is from Arizona although she was raised in NJ so likely would associate that as her home state! She's headed to HM school in TX after PIR.

My son is Division 180 and I received a phone call from him this past Saturday (April 3) .. we got to talk for about 25 minutes. Got the call around 5 30 pm EST.  Hope you guys get calls soon if it hasn't already happened.

My son is also in division 180. I was able to speak to him this past Saturday. It was great hearing from him. I felt so much better!!

Hi ladies...My son is also Div 179.  My husband got to talk to him this morning.  He told his dad he is a squad leader.  Made his dad's day to get to hear his voice!  We have another son who was in boot camp this same time 4 years ago.  He wound up the RPOC and watching him march in carrying that sword at graduation was something I will never forget!  I also have a step-grandson leaving for boot camp the same day we fly in for graduation!  I am very proud to have three boys in the Navy!!

They were being allowed to make calls to finish up info for the paperwork and his was already done so the person allowed him to make his call anyway.  He did get to make a personal call to his wife on Saturday and then I got to talk to him for a few minutes before his time was up.  It is so different from when my older son was there 4 years ago.  They did not get to make any personal calls at all unless it was an earned privilege! My older son had a few things to say about that which I won't repeat here!  lol

Jake had his done already.  He was SIQ and now on LD due to the stitches.  My other son was down for a couple days when he had his pulled.  And he did use it to sleep!!  I don't understand why they have to have their wisdom teeth pulled.  I don't know if they do it to everyone or just the ones who need it.
