Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My SR won some Captain's Cup and got a nice long call today! He sounded great, and can't wait for graduation!! ONE WEEK! :)
Janet and Maureen,
i also am unable to go to PIR - only one of us could go so dad is going - he also went to GL many years ago and i thought he would enjoy seeing how it has changed :) That doesn't change the amount of 'guilt' one feels - both self-imposed and from others who exclaim "YOU AREN'T GOING????" without thought as to the reason(s) why - and there usually are many.
I did get to finally talk to my SR yesterday for 20 minutes for his 'I'm a sailor' call - it was the first time we were able to talk this entire time. Because he's an 800 division i don't know when I will get to actually see him but so grateful that he will have his phone for 'facetime' and his laptop next week or at least the ability to text him.
Thank you diannep
sh04div812: FL girl here too! So barefoot or sandals is me as well. I had to get a "new wardrobe' when attending my son's PIR in Feb 2010! But here is the 7 day weather outlook for Chicago....maybe you can still get away with sandals, but it may be a bit nippy!
That's crazy weather. How does this Florida girl pack. )-: I own mostly sandals. LOL
Good Morning!! Captains Cup this morning for this group! Fun competition for them!
Happy Mothers Day weekend to all of you!
Good Morning!
Happy Mother's Day weekend to you! It's going to be a good weekend here despite the fact it has been 80+ degrees in the last week, and is suppose to snow in the next couple of days. LOL
Oh Gosh, I thought we would never get here. I'm so excited that we will be there this time next week. Happy Mothers Day!!! We will be on the beach. (-:
Good morning everyone, I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend and Mother's Day. Your recruit would want you to do something wonderful this weekend and celebrate the wonderful mom that you are :) Plus they will be having a great time today at Captains Cup :)
Congrats to all the New Sailors, Bravo Zulu !!!!
That's great KimE. I can't wait to meet everyone. Go NAVY!!! Congrats to everyone.
