Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

My husband called tonight! Ahh I'm so excited! He sounded good, but tired. Said it was really rough up there, he's the toughest guy I know, so it really must be! This is one of the best days ever!!!

Hi everyone! A couple more questions........How many times a week is everyone mailing cards/letters? And are we suppose to get our sailor's a gift at graduation? I see these gift sets on the brochure.......Has anyone ever ordered those? Is there something out there I should be buying? I am brand new to the military,all new to me........Thx..............

They usually get their first letters on a Sunday, about 2 weeks after arriving. If no letters arrive for you all this week (meaning they didn't get to write yesterday), they most likely will write next Sunday and receive their letters then.

Mamick: Sometimes they are correct. We ask that all write their letters and wait for the form letter to put the address on and mail them all at once. They hold the mail from the SRs for the first 2 weeks anyway while training the Recruit Mail Petty Officer for the division. But some want to go ahead and mail the letters, hoping the recruiter's address is correct. In that case, they will do their best to get the letters to your SRs.

MaMick, no, there is no ship 70. The division number sounds correct. Here is the RTC link to the addresses. See which one matches your address and that is the ship number:

Still dont have a letter.... Has anyone else not received a letter? I keep thinking tomorrow and then tomorrow comes, and it isnt here. Called the recruiter and got an address, but I am not sure about it. He said ship 70 Div 201. I looked on the Recruit Training Center site and Ship 70 is not listed.
