~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

diannep, promise you will not leave this site until I make it thru bootcamp! I will book 2 nights and go from there. All I know is he goes to Grouton and I have no idea when. I want every second possible though.
Patti, you and your son are in my prayers. I hope he gets the support he needs,he might start doing alot better and surprise you. Praying for the best for him.......
maryanne: They will be at RTC until around midnight or shortly thereafter on Friday after PIR (those flying out)--they will be bussed to the airports after that, unless they happen to fly out on Sunday which occasionally happens. So if you want to visit your new sailor at the airport on Sat, you should stay through Fri night...remember, your sailor may want to come back to your room to relax after PIR, and checkout times for the hotels are usually noon, so you would want to book through Fri night.
If staying in GL for A School, you have Fri-Sun daytime liberty with them.
Patti, I hope your son hangs in there. He is overwhelmed right now with all that is being thrown at him (and lots of yelling). Hoping that he connects with some of his shipmates and that they can support one another. I think his reaction is typical of many at this point in bootcamp. Hang in there!
srwife: Some of the 900 division SRs handle administrative responsibilities....like tending to the VIPs at a PIR ceremony, behind the scenes work.
Good Morning All!
How many nights are you booking hotels for? Just Thursday or Friday as well? Not sure how much time we get to spend with out son/daughter..........This is tricky..
My son also got to call today, however he does not know my number by heart, without his cell phone.........Ugh............He did remember his dad's though and was able to call him.........Said he was doing ok and liked it so far........You can better know I mailed him a note with phone numbers on there. I would have just liked to heard his voice.........Was not expecting that for at least another week........
and encouragement he needs to persevere until the end. I wish we could show him that video of Sailors on the carriers dancing. Keep us posted, please!
Patti, There are going to be many of us praying for your son that he bonds with his buddies and gets the support and encourag
