Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

srwife: 800 divisions are the Special Operations divisions. 900 divisions are the "performing" divisions. The 100 divisions are regular divisions.

My friends son just graduated on January 11th went directly to A school in Florida and has been on hold. He just started class on Friday. They put them on watch duty so they are keeping them busy.

Got a call from my girl! It really made my day to hear her voice and know that shes ok. She said everything was going well except for all the girls fighting...LOL! A much needed surprise today!

My son called too. So sad I missed it. Everyone else got to talk to him and said he sounded great.

Yes I just got a call from my son. He sounds good; the worst was the shot in the butt and if this is the worst thing so far I feel relieved.

There is a big explanation on 900's and 800's if you search it you should find the info. I do not know how to attach to this.

Anyone know why in the recent PIR's, and this PIR, all of the divisions are in the 100's, and then theres one division is in the 900's? Just curious

Just got a call from my son, was so surprised , wasn't expecting one for another week . Said his ship was changed to Ship 13 div 196. They were held for 7P days

my babygirl just called!!! :) :) tears of joy!! same as Collette, her division has been good earned a call!! 22 minutes :) trying talking til dad got hm, but she had to go. tomorrow is her bday so made this call even more special!!
