N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Well, actually, Jsmom....today was the last chance for him to make his run in order to make PIR.  He won't be able to test tomorrow.  They only test M W F.  There would have been no problem getting through BattleStations, even if the night before PIR....he will test again on Fri morning, but obviously won't be able to make PIR.  I am so sorry....this happens in every PIR group.

No, no PIR for him if in FIT if he misses his own.  I'm hoping that you all can go to his A School graduation at least.

Prayers for him to get through this and become a sailor!  Here is the link to the FIT Division group on here....please join and those ladies on there can help.  It is not a terribly active group, but sammy is one of the N4Moms veterans who is on there to help. She is very encouraging!

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/fitprogram

Please stay in touch on this group and let all know how he is doing.

He would have had his pictures taken.  Hmmm....I would ask him about that.  You can call the Photo Lab too and see if they can tell you anything:

847 578 6205

As far as how long he will be there, just depends on how long it takes him to pass his run.  Because he will do BattleStations pretty quickly after that happens and head to A School then.  They will forward letters to his A School, so I wouldn't worry about that.  He will need your encouragement in those letters!  Wings on his feet!

Just got my call.  My son just called.  He is in DIVISION 204.

Comment by ILoveMy3 on May 22, 2013 at 5:19pm

@jmyers, what division is your brother in?

Just got the call so proud of my brother "I'm officially a United States sailor" I got to thank The Lord for giving him the strength to do this because without him nothing is possible. He lost his voice because of screaming during battle stations.

I just got my "I'm a sailor" call!!! Praise The Lord! He said he doesn't have to be back until 10 p.m. Friday, and leaves for the airport at 2 a.m. Saturday. He said BS was pretty intense.

I asked if everyone in 203 passed BS, and at first I think he misunderstood and said they had begun with 90+ and ended with 70-something. But I think he was talking about the attrition rate for the whole BC time period. The second time I asked, he said, "Yes," and that he had passed BS. So... my information is iffy.

Jsmom, Deep breath. Did you already cancel your flight? If he is in FIT and doesn't make his run either today or tomorrow and do BS either tonight or tomorrow night, no he will not have PIR. He will pass his run and then move right on to A School.

I have no idea on the phone call because it has always been a given, from what we see, when the PIR date is in question.

I am so sorry you are going through this, but he will still accomplish becoming a sailor. Sending prayers your way

Jmyers, no call yet here re div 203. My husband keeps calling me to check.

Jsmom, I'm so VERY sorry that this is happening, and am praying for you and your family.
