Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Just read on FB that the 900 div won the CC!  WTG Sailors!

Hey, good idea.  I'll check with our local AAA on Monday.

Comment by Mike803 on May 19, 2013 at 3:38pm

Ok, no toll roads? Lucky you! Still, if you have a local AAA office, they should have something like an EZ Pass or I Pass for someone that wants to travel.... You may want to call them.

Comment by VirginiaDW Sh14 Div198 PIR 5/24 on May 19, 2013 at 3:25pm

Mike I guess I should've noted that.  I am in Arkansas, and there are no toll roads here, so there is no such thing as an EZ Pass or a place to buy it here.

Comment by Mike803 on May 19, 2013 at 3:22pm

VirginiaDW, not knowing what state you are in, it is hard to advise you. However, for your information, here in Virginia, you can purchase an EZ Pass, which works in Va, Md, Pa, Oh, In, & Illinois at some Giant Food Stores, your local AAA office, among other retailers. Just google EZ Pass, or whatever they call it where you live and you should be able to get information on where to buy one.

I'm getting a little stressed about the toll roads situation in GL.  I am trying to find out the best and most economical way to deal with it.  I tried to check out the I-pass -- never could find out the actual cost -- but I did find out that it takes 7-10 days to get one via snail mail, so that is not an option.  So what is the best way to deal with the tolls?

Comment by Lighthouse3 Div203 PIR5/24/13 on May 19, 2013 at 3:11pm
That makes sense. I couldn't figure out how they were going to fit them all in before the day I was told my son's would be.

Ooops!  Prayers for BattleStations tonight are in order!  Sorry about that--posted in error.  Can't mention division numbers here, but prayers are appreciated.  They don't always go on Sunday nights so I had forgotten about this PIR group going on Sunday night.

There will be no PFAs today, but tomorrow there will be for some.  So start those prayers now!  :-)

Comment by smokeater on May 19, 2013 at 9:32am
Thank you diannep. We will hold that prayer through the day and over until Monday. We went out on so many runs last night after midnight I forgot today was only Sunday. I think I'll sleep. Lol
Will have to put phone in my husbands care, not sure i trust him to be as diligent tho. Ladies, this just gives extra hours to pray for the ones taking their tests starting next week. Amen

Amen!  And praying they get some good rest today, so they will be ready for whatever's to come.  Mine is in 203, as I've said before, so we get to stay in suspense even longer.  After all their hard work, I pray the Lord enables all the SRs to make it to PIR, knowing their strength comes from Him.
