For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Divisions for this group have now been confirmed by RTC:
TG 29 - 10 Divisions (205-212, 811 and 929) Graduate Friday, May 31, 2013. Each recruit will be permitted 4 guests.

The snowstorm a week ago included sheet lightening, it was fascinating to watch. That snowstorm started early Sunday evening after we reached a high of 70 something degrees about noon. :) Gotta love this Colorado weather!

Jp25: Be sure to click on SAVE at the bottom of the page after you make your selections! IMPORTANT!

Jp25: Go to the right top corner of this page, under your screen name to SETTINGS. Click....then go to PRIVACY on the left side of the screen. Click....then make sure that under VISIBILITY, you only have "Friends" boxes checked....not "anyone" or "Members." That way, only a friend that you accept as a friend can see your page.

Hi MicheleK, jp26 and Louise, Looks like we have a spec ops division in this TG from a couple of posts the last few hours. sjtina and Cor should be joining this group soon just for you, both of them have sailors who were in an 800 division. Things are a little different for them than the other divisions, and they will have all the ins and outs.
Especially for those of you with recruits in the 800 division, please make sure your user name IS NOT your real name and DOES NOT include your recruits name in any way shape or form. :) You should also go to your personal settings and make your page private.
