N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

donna93,  I have gotten the box and a phone call.  No form letter yet.  On the phone he told me Div 208 but I did not think to ask him what ship.  I am assuming it is 12.  Hopefully the letter will come today.  I have tons of letters to send.

Good Morning All!  Welcome to the new members here!

donna is correct...they can purchase a phone card at the NEX.  However, it saves them money if you all send them one, activated so they don't waste time doing that when making calls.

My son is also ship 4 div 811. Received box and letter Friday. Just can't wait to hear something from him. Hoping they are ok

VonP     Just read some of your other comments and don't worry about not sending a calling card.  when my son called on Saturday I asked him to tell me when I needed to refill his minutes and he told me he had already purchased another calling card there.

My sons best friend is also at camp (left the day before him ) but no word from him yet. I hope his PIR day is the same. I know my son told me they would be in different divisions.

Anyone else out there from Tennessee?

Hello everyone!    got my form letter yesterday, with his PIR date of 5/31/92. I was surprised as he hasn't been gone a week. No box yet. Was so happy just to see his handwriting and have a countdown day.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here!

My son is Ship 04 Division 811
