N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

HI Alexismom,

I might have to check out that Delta info. and do the same. It DOES sound like a great rate!  I think my son's PIR is 5/31/13, but I'm not sure.  haven't got the letter yet.

For those who don't know what the "flag" picture at the top is.....that is the Centennial Celebration a couple of years ago at the GL A School....that flag is totally made up of sailors/GL A School personnel.  Neat!

Lala, diannep posted that picture, and I love it too.

Yes. I do consider NC close to GA. I actually booked my flight with Delta for 5/30-6/2 for $177 x 2 (355.50) round trip. I was wondering if I entered something wrong because that's an excellent rate. But I feel Blessed to get this rate, nonstop..check it out....I just want to meet all moms (parents) definitely the "folks" from the south.

Ellen, I am loving the pic you chose for this PIR group. That is one of the pics I posted everywhere on N4M's lol. My daughter was in boot camp when that pic was taken :)

Sorry I have been MIA, I am sure you all will understand when I say small business owner and Tax time :( I hate it. The good news is I have to be finished by Monday so I will be available more starting Tuesday :)

I hope most in 205 and 206 got a call today! It was such a surprise to hear my son's voice. To be honest, I was scared something was wrong at first. After being on N4M, I wasn't expecting a call until MAYBE the end of April. My son sounded good. I was so shocked that I found myself tongue tied! We talked for about 7 minutes. The area code was 847. He said the division was working well together :)

Comment by nickibink on April 13, 2013 at 9:29pm

Alexismom - do you consider NC in the GA area?  After looking at flights and dealing with the distance to the closest airport, I decided to drive.  We mailed our letters today and need to write tonight's.

diannep thanks for the clarification. I'm sure he will find that out as well but I will mention it in a letter.

CONGRATS to all who receive calls today and I pray the rest of you will receive one SOON!!! kp

Hi All. I heard from my Daughter today and that was quite exciting and refreshing. I had not received her form letter yet because I was out of town. So I had an opportunity to ask her the ship and division number along with graduation date. (9/206 & 5/31) I've already booked my flight and hotel for that PIR weekend. I'm so excited and ready to hold my "oldest" baby. I'm back home and have the form letter in hand. Now I'm ready to mail off letters/cards and spread the address to family and friends. Is there anyone from the Georgia area who's headed for PIR on 5/31/13? Thanks for this group who understands and feels what I'm feeling...
